World Traveller

I have an insatiable love for life—savouring delectable cuisines, connecting with diverse souls, and collecting priceless experiences wherever I go. The world is my playground, and I am willing to traverse any corner of it in pursuit of these simple joys. Thus far, my wanderlust has led me to all the continents except for Australia/Oceania and Antarctica, taking me on unforgettable journeys through Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America.

Australia now sits at the top of my bucket list, eagerly awaiting exploration.

In Africa, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in the rich tapestry of 37 countries, but my ambitious goal is to set foot in all 55 African nations during this remarkable lifetime. Life, for me, is an adventure waiting to unfold, one destination at a time.

Hiking

During those moments when I'm not immersed in the hustle and bustle of daily life, you'll likely find me surrounded by the tranquility of nature, indulging in one of my greatest passions—hiking. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other on a trail brings me an incredible sense of joy and fulfillment. What captivates me about hiking is the way it allows me to just be, to escape the demands of the everyday and find solace in the rhythm of my steps against the backdrop of the great outdoors. Each hike is a unique journey, and no experience is ever the same; the changing landscapes and the surprises nature unfolds along the way make every excursion a new adventure.

Hiking, for me, is not just a hobby—it's a source of rejuvenation, a chance to connect with the world around me, and a reminder of the beauty that exists when I take the time to step off the beaten path.

Love for the Arts, Culture, Creativity and everything inbetween!

I find joy in the rich tapestry of art, culture, and creativity. Beyond my professional pursuits, I'm a social runner with a passion for conquering marathons, proudly earning the title of a #LondonMarathonFinisher. My vision extends to running all the major marathons globally. I'm also an old-school book enthusiast, savouring the tangible experience of flipping through pages and hugging a good book. Music and dancing hold a special place in my heart; I relish every opportunity to immerse myself in soulful tunes or hit the dance floor. From my school days, I dabbled in pottery, drawn to the therapeutic touch and earthy scent of clay.

Drum-beating, particularly the resonance of leather and wood drums, is another favourite hobby that brings a sense of tranquillity. Beyond these pursuits, a lesser-known fact about me is that I'm an artist. I honed my skills at the Johan Carinus Art Centre in Grahamstown (Makhado), exploring everything from sculptures to paintings and architecture. This creative flair propels me to explore art galleries worldwide during my travels. I also make it a point to attend major music and art festivals, chasing the vibrant cultural expressions across the globe."

Guiding Poem

This is my favourite poem and I know it by heart:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves,
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”
